VR Compatibility
As our product is a VR simulator, VirtuRoad must be compatible with any VR headset. This includes Google Cardboard, Oculus, or any slip in phone headset.
Real Life Locations
By using real life locations, the consumer is able to learn how to drive in a place that they know and will drive in real life, with ease. By using Map box (a free 3D mapping software), we achieve this goal and the user can pick any desired location to practice in, on our app.
Any Driving Scenario
By learning any driving scenario, we can be sure that the consumer will be prepared on the road as it is tailored to their specific needs. The program has randomized traffic and people patterns, such as a pedestrian on a crosswalk, or a cyclist coming around their blind spot, so that the user is prepared for any situation, just like in real life! The user will be scored depending on how they react to that specific driving situation.
Testing Portion
When the user first opens the app, they can test themselves based on the knowledge they have. These questions are taken directly from the California Drivers Ed book. The level of the driving course they will then practice in, will be determined by how well they performed on the test.
Technology
The simulator itself is programmed in Unity Game Engine, where the 3D mapping software, Map box, is included in. The wheel, pedals, and gear shifter connect to the VR headset (Oculus Quest 64GB) via bluetooth. The mobile app allows the user to connect to their VR headset, pick a desired location to practice in, and track their driving progress and time spent on the simulator.

VirtuRoad's Accomplishments!
As an all-women teenage-run startup, VirtuRoad is incredibly proud to have gone /going through entrepreneurship program, incubation, and product development. During this journey, we have participated in several pitch competitions and have won funding from being the first high school team in the San Diego's Angel Conference to be one of four teams to pitch at the Tech Coast Angel's Power Hour to catching the interest of ABC's Shark Tank Series!
